NASPO 2017 Annual Conference

The role of state procurement has changed a lot since NASPO’s members came together at the first Annual Conference 70 years ago. The 2017 Annual Conference will challenge you to innovate new approaches not only to prepare for the future of state government, but to help shape it. Join your fellow members, September 10-13 in Tampa, Florida, to interact, network and conduct the business of the organization as we look ahead to another 70 years of excellence in state procurement.


Location & Travel

Before making your travel arrangements, consult NASPO’s reimbursement portal to review the travel policy and reimbursement procedures.



The Tampa International Airport is 8.9 miles from Hilton Tampa Downtown.  Blue One Transportation is the hotel’s preferred transportation service and offers non-stop transportation to and from the Tampa International Airport. To use this service please call the transportation hotline when you disembark your plane, prior to picking up luggage 813-333-3598. Pricing is $13 for single passengers or $11 per passenger for 2 or more guests.

Hilton Tampa Downtown offers valet parking only for a daily rate of $16 and nightly rate of $24.  The hotel is offering a 25% discount to NASPO attendees.  All parking will be charged to the master account.


Tampa International Airport offers taxi service by Yellow Cab and United Cab and is available at the curbside outside the Baggage Claim Level. Both companies charge the same fares: $2.50, plus $2.40 per mile. The minimum fee from the airport is $15. There is a flat rate fee of $25 to downtown Tampa.

Rental Cars

Use of a rental car is reimbursable only in special circumstances and must be approved by NASPO in advance.

Access to on-airport rental car providers is available directly across the walkway in the Red and Blue baggage claim areas.  Courtesy vehicle service to off-airport rental car companies is available at either end of the Red and Blue Baggage Claim.

Shared Transportation/Vans

Airport limos and shared passenger van service is available through advance reservation or walk-up booking. Enclosed, air conditioned lobbies are available at either end of the Baggage Claim areas for passengers to wait until shared vans are ready for boarding.  To contact SuperShuttle and make a reservation, call (800) 282-6817 or (727) 572-1111.  Fares range from $12-34.

NASPO will make hotel reservations for you based on the arrival and departure information provided in your registration form.

NASPO will pay for up to five nights lodging (September 9, 10, 11, 12, 13) only. If additional nights are required due to travel constraints, those nights must be approved by NASPO prior to booking.
  Hotel reservations must be received by Thursday, August 10. Requests received after the deadline are subject to availability.

The group hotel rate is $145 per night, plus taxes and fees (currently 12%, for a total nightly fee of $162.40, please contact NASPO Staff if you need additional information regarding hotel expenses), and includes complimentary wireless internet access.

If you’re bringing a guest with you, don’t forget guest registration. The fee is $175 and includes the President's Reception, Off Site Reception, Guest Tour program Sept. 11 and 12 and State Dinner. Note that all guests must be 21 years of age or older.
