Steven Berg is the director of the Office of Procurement Management for the State of South Dakota. He currently oversees the State of South Dakota’s centralized procurement office, which is the entity responsible for procurement of all supplies, materials and equipment required by state agencies and institutions.
Steven has 20 years of procurement experience in federal and state government. Immediately after graduating from high school, Steven joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a contracting officer for 11 years. During his tenure with the Air Force, he performed various contracting and procurement-related duties while stationed in countries such as Italy, Hungary, Germany, Egypt and Guam.
Steven is an active member of the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) and National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO).
