Serving Tennessee state government for over 42 years, Mike currently serves has the Chief Procurement Officer. He was appointed to that position July 1, 2013. Prior to that he served has the Deputy Chief Procurement Officer. Mike also served has an Assistant Commissioner for the State Department of General Services beginning in May 2006. Under his direction are the Purchasing Division, Human Resources and Governor’s Office of Diversity Business Enterprise. He also served as the department’s Legislative Liaison and the Emergency Services Coordinator for the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Beginning in January 1992 Mike served as the Director of Postal Services. Prior to assuming that position he worked fourteen years in the Purchasing Division. He is a 1974 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Mike is a 1993 graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute and a 2014 graduate of LEAD Tennessee.
